Benzie County Central Schools was the recipient of a $25,000 2% Grant from the Grand Traverse Band Tribal Council.  The Board formally accepted the grant Monday evening, August 17, 2009 at the regularly scheduled monthly board meeting.  These grant funds will be used to offset the lease requirement for the new BCCS Alternative Education site.  Grand Traverse Band Council Chairperson, Derek Bailey attended the board meeting and expressed support of educational opportunities in Benzie County.  (Shown below are Board President Kathy Ross, Superintendent David Micinski and GTB Council Chairperson Derek Bailey)
