Mr. Eagan has been with Benzie Central since 1992. Before arriving at Benzie Central, he worked at Clayton Co. Schools and Whitfield Co. Schools in Georgia. He received his degree from Georgia State University in Music Education. He got his Masters from Vandercook College (Chicago) in Music Education.
Mr. Eagan enjoys antique wooden boats and is the director of bands for BCCS. Not only does he conduct the middle school and high school bands, but he also travels to Platte River Elementary to direct the sixth grade band.
The Annual Benzie Central Band Drive Band Drive
Since 1962, the Benzie Central Band Boosters have conducted the annual Band Drive where students and parents from both the middle and high school bands canvass Benzie County collecting donations for your program. 100% of the donations go toward awards, uniforms and equipment for the students of the Benzie Bands.
The Band Drive is traditionally held on a Saturday in the fall of the year. Students and parents are asked to donate their time and energies to helping the Band Boosters conduct a successful event. Each year, we are in need of parents to drive the routes, and students to work at each route. The Band Drive goes from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (or earlier). The Parents and students meet in the high school band room at 8:30 a.m. for a short information meeting, after which they depart with a driver and four students per car to cover their assigned route. Students wear the same Benzie Central Shirts they are given for the summer parade. Shirts will be provided to students who do not already own one.
Over the years, hundreds of parents and literally thousands of students have teamed up to make this event a success. Please take note of this year’s date and plan to be a part of this great tradition.
