Counseling

Welcome to the official Benzie Central Schools on-line Counseling Center. We hope that parents, students, faculty, and community members will be able to find information and resources useful to them regarding many issues related to high school students, their education and their careers.

The Professional School Counselor is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified teacher with a Master's Degree in Counseling, including coursework in career development, human growth and behavior, guidance and information, and the completion of supervised internship.  The two counselors at Benzie Central High School divide the alphabet so that each counselor is able to work with a student for their entire 4 year high school career.  Ms. Christine Clute is the counselor for students with the last name beginning with A through K.  Mr. Dan Salyer is the counselor for students with the last name beginning with L through Z.  At the junior high, Mrs. Barbara Powell oversees the seventh and eighth graders.  Our elementary school counselor is Mrs. Elizabeth Chapelle.
