Ms. Jeri Mills

Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. For a tomboy with two older brothers, "playing school" was about the only girly thing I ever did. I went to Central Michigan University and earned a bachelor of science degree in education in English and history. Soon after graduation, I took a job teaching geography at BCMS. The following year I transferred to English.
I have been teaching at Benzie Central Schools since 1992. I spent the first fifteen years of my career teaching seventh and eighth grade language arts. The 2007-2008 school year brought a big change for me and my family. I decided to make a career change by taking a job at the high school. I have recently completed a Master's degree in K - 12 school counseling through Western Michigan University. Another change came in the 2011-2012 school year because of reassignments due to lay-offs. This is how I found my way to Benzie Academy teaching grades 9-12 in the areas of English and social studies...and I thank God I did! I have found an even more perfect job suited to me.
