Mrs. Sue Micinski

I have taught sixth grade at Benzie Schools since I was hired. Currently, I am teaching Reading, English, and Ancient Studies. I attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a degree in elementary education, English, and Sociology. While teaching at several jobs, including a one-room school, I earned a Masters in gifted education.

I spent a number of years working at Huron Intermediate School District as their consultant for gifted education and professional development. I have also taught graduate level classes for Central Michigan University. I took several years off from day-to-day teaching to raise my three children, but returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher when they all were in school.

Some of my favorite pastimes are reading, quilting, walking, and traveling. My family and I have visited more than 30 national parks. My favorites have been Bryce, Acadia, and the north rim of the Grand Canyon.

I also love the theater. I have either costumed or directed over 30 shows for Benzie Schools. But I really love going to shows, especially musicals.
