Mrs. Elaine Titze
Before coming to Benzie, I previously taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades in the Traverse City school district. I received my undergrad degree from Grand Valley State University majoring in language arts and minoring in elementary education. I am currently working on (and hope to soon finish!) my Masters degree. I've been at Lake Ann since 2001 and truly feel I found my professional "home." This is a great school, a wonderful community, and I feel very lucky to be part of such a fantastic team.
When I'm away from the classroom, spending time with the men in my life - hubby, Ron, and two sons, Danny and Sam - is what makes the world go 'round for me. I love curling up with a good book, playing board games, going to the movies, and enjoying our beautiful area. I love to travel and hope to achieve a few goals in this area, including visiting all 50 states (only 4 more to go!) and I'd love to go "somewhere" where I actually have to use my passport - preferably Italy!
My teaching philosophy is pretty simple: "Take my role as a teacher seriously while never taking myself too seriously."
